We wanted to send a long overdue congratulations to Kane, Jenna, and family, for the adoption of Luci.
We miss and love Luci so very much but are thrilled to know that she is living such a fulfilling and joyful life. Thank you for loving her and allowing her to be a dog. Give her big floppy face a kiss from us and remind her that she's so loved, by so many people! Happy livin', Luci! |

CHEERS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS!
Thank you to FCSS for awarding us with the regional 'Cheers To Volunteers' Award. We are feeling so honored and proud to have earned this. But truly, the real honor and pride comes from our volunteers who show up every single day, no matter rain or shine. They show up when we are at capacity, when power goes out, when it's -40 and storming, and they even share Christmas with our dogs who don't have a home for the holidays! I've watched volunteers car pool to monthly bingos on days that I'm sure they'd rather be relaxing. I've looked out the window and seen a volunteer show up on their mower to make sure "we get ahead of the fox tails" (seriously, we appreciate this). I've seen volunteers bust their butts on beautiful weekends that I'm sure they could spend with friends and family, but instead their spending it at fundraising events with us. I've seen volunteers get down and dirty in the backyard while planting memorial trees or building agility equipment and a gazebo. I've witnessed the pure joy on our dogs faces when they see a group of our volunteers out in the community (oh, you don't just exist at the shelter?! Cool!). I've heard the way dogs bark with excitement before volunteers can even get to the door, and how they cry when the volunteers leave. I've watched volunteers covered in blood from a small wound on a dogs ear, while they sat contently with them and cleaned them up. I've seen volunteers walk through the door with icicles on their eyelashes, just to make a dog happy for a few minutes outside. I've witnessed the unthinkable, the extraordinary, and the most loving moments - THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS |

Kalani won GOLD today at the Zulu Challenge. Thank you so much to our Vice President, Justin for bringing her out to such an incredibly fulfilling event. Kalani is STILL available for adoption and could really use someone who likes to be active. While she enjoys being active, at home she is completely house trained, down to earth, and loves many naps. She is SUCH an incredible girl. |
