Upcoming Fundraisers:
We want to specifically thank Jared and the team at Taber Avail for making this possible for our Lost Paws Society!
Have you read the recent news? Okay you got me! It's me - Amanda. The one behind (most) our social media. For those of you who have not met me, I thought I'd put a face to the name for you! I am an avid dog lover, even the really spicy ones! I grew up with dogs my whole life and even when I spent my 20's living alone, I dog sat for many people to fulfill my doggy fever! After living in Kelowna and training my opinionated Sharpei, I moved back to Taber and decided to further my training education through a wonderful training academy in Manitoba. While training, and being a mom of a dog fanatic toddler (shocking ), I worked part time for Taber Lost Paws Society, where I also acquired my 2nd dog (foster fail ), Fritz. Life was a wild ride for me this year, however I am so thankful that in September I was welcomed on full time! I have built so many amazing relationships here - especially our wonderful volunteers, and been involved with so many of our success stories, which will always hold a place in my heart. Thank you all for everything you do, and I am honored to be part of this community. |

Recent Adoptees -
We want to send congratulations to Clifford on his adoption and our utmost gratitude to Josh, Melissa, and Hiro for welcoming Clifford into their home. When a dog comes back to the shelter multiple times, it can be extremely discouraging. But we now know that it happened for a real good reason. The universe took its sweet time, but regardless we are grateful it sent them our way. Josh and Mel have given Clifford the greatest gift of all this Christmas. Thank you for giving him time, guidance, understanding, and a whole lot of love. |
We would like to send a very wholesome congratulations to the Dallas family! Looks like these girls were all meant to be. Belle came to us in 2022 with her house mate, where they began their very long foster journey. 2 years later the Dallas family came along and scooped Belle up. She is thriving and living a very deserving life! We are so happy for your official adoption, Belle! |
SAVING SHADOW
From a wet, cold, and undervalued life, to the chaos of a shelter and having around 250 rocks removed from his stomach. And now he has FAMILY. The kind that welcomes him to the couch, takes him for fulfilling walks and adventures, dedicates their lives to his continued training, guides him to gain confidence, and helps him be a dog again. Jenelle swooped in when Shadow desperately needed saving. I remember passing her on the highway and seeing the look of despair and exhaustion on her face as she traveled to Calgary to rush Shadow after he unfortunately ate approximately 250 rocks. And from that second on, Jenelle knew that Shadow would come home with her. And that he did. A medical foster, turned into a foster fail. And now Shadow is ADOPTED!! Shadow hasn't had it easy at all. He came from an unfortunate situation, had intense anxiety in our shelter, had issues arise in his first potential home, had surgery to remove the rocks, and completed a training program all in less than a year. He IS the definition of what it means to rescue. If Shadow could remind you all of anything it's that rescued dogs need time, patience, understanding, and training. He'd tell you to persevere and get help from the right resources because the reward will be worth it. He'd tell you that black dogs are just as good as the 'pretty dogs'. And I KNOW he would tell you that the Robinson family is the best thing that's ever happened to him in his life. Congratulations Shadow, Jenelle, Travis, Joey, and of course Bow. |
