Reporting a found dog
Have you come across a dog roaming around and you've been unsuccessful locating the owner or home?
If the dog has been found in the Town of Taber or MD of Taber (excluding Barnwell and Vauxhall), you can contact our Taber Bylaw or Community Standards officers.
The officer will meet you where you have found the dog and will bring it into our facility to immediately check for a microchip, and make sure to give it a safe space while we work on finding the owners.

Other things you can do to help the dog find it's way back home:
- Check the dogs collar for tags that may have contact information.
- Post a picture and description on Facebook Page: Taber Lost and/or Missing Pets.
- Bring it to a local vet to have it scanned for a microchip

Claiming Your Lost Dog
NOTE: TABER LOST PAWS SOCIETY STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS ARE NOT ABLE TO RELEASE ANY DOGS, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
If you have seen your dog posted on our Facebook or someone has mentioned your dog may be at our facility:

Our Taber Bylaw or Community Standards Officers at Taber Police Services will be able to assist you with claiming and picking up your lost pet.
Please note that there may be charges/fees applied to claim your dog depending on length of stay, different factors while it was roaming, and town registry.
Remember that one of the best ways to make sure your dog is returned to you as soon as possible and to avoid certain fees, is by microchipping your dog and ensuring your contact information is registered online.
The moment you realize your dog is missing, please call Bylaw or Community Standards Officers to inquire with them or simply make them aware, as they will be able to get your dog to you if they find them.
You can also call us to make us aware that your dog is missing so we can help keep an eye out for it. Facebook Page - Taber Lost and/or Missing Pets is also a good resource to post your missing pet on so that the rest of the community can assist if needed.
NOTE: AFTER 5 BUSINESS DAYS ANY UNCLAIMED DOGS WILL BE TURNED OVER TO THE POSSESSION OF TABER LOST PAWS SOCIETY - WHERE THE DOG WILL BE VET CHECKED, VACCINATED, FIXED (IF NEEDED), AND PUT UP FOR ADOPTION
